The walk
A kilometre of forest to the whole view
It starts at the cabins, crosses the creek and climbs through five stations to the main lookout.

The five stations
The route follows the La Chica creek, which runs down the mountain in the rainy season. Every station has its own reason to stop.
- 01 Trailhead Starts behind the cabins. Flat ground, deep shade.
- 02 Rest stop First clearing, beside the creek. Bench and shade.
- 03 The climb The demanding stretch. This is where you gain almost all the height.
- 04 Before the top The canopy opens and the sea starts showing through the trees.
- 05 Lookout Open platform, Pacific and town in view. The best sunset on the property.
Construction status
You're watching it being built
The trail is being built in stages. The lookout platform is finished and the first section is open. The rest opens as the work advances.
We would rather say it before you arrive: whoever comes now does not find a finished park, they find a place under construction with the view already in place. People who like that, like it a lot.

What to expect from the walk
What to bring
Closed shoes with grip, water, insect repellent and a cap. Sunscreen in the dry season.
If it rains
The ground gets slippery and the creek rises. When that happens we close the trail until it is safe. Safety comes before the itinerary.
Best time
Early morning for the wildlife and the temperature, or late afternoon for the sunset.

The trail fills up with names
Any guest who wants to can plant a tree at the point of the trail they choose and leave a plaque with their name and country on it. The large trees already standing on the property can be adopted too.
It isn't an abstract donation: you walk to the spot, you plant it, you set the plaque and you get the photograph. Looking after the tree is on us.
