Designed to be discovered

A journey shaped by nature

Sendero was born from the landscapes of Santa Catalina: tropical forest falling toward the Pacific, paths that invite you farther in, and a pace of life that becomes your own again.

More than a place to stay, it is an invitation to slow down, reconnect and discover the destination from a thirty-five acre property where the cabins, trail, lookout and beach become one experience.

Designed to be discovered, not simply visited.

Discovering Santa Catalina

Four reasons to come. You don't have to pick one.

Beach and surf

The beaches of Santa Catalina and one of the best-known surf breaks in Panama, minutes from the property.

Coiba and the ocean

Use your stay as the base for Coiba National Park: diving, boat trips and snorkelling in the Pacific.

Trail and lookout

A trail of our own, growing in stages up to the highest point of the property, with the whole destination in view.

Rest

End the day in a quiet cabin with a kitchen and a deck, surrounded by forest, with nobody in front of you.

@visitsantacatalina is an independent account that promotes Santa Catalina. It isn't ours; we link it because it shows the destination well.

Cabins surrounded by vegetation in Santa Catalina

The cabins

Five cabins, full kitchen, up to 6 guests

Spacious, separate and independent. Two hotel-grade queen beds plus a sofa bed, full bathroom, equipped kitchen and a private deck. Outside, a barbecue area and a golf cart to move around the property and drive down to the beach.

Forest trail leading to the lookout

The trail and the lookout

A kilometre uphill to the whole view

The trail crosses the forest along the La Chica creek and climbs through five stations to the main lookout, with an open view of the Pacific and the town.

The trail is being built in stages. The first section and the lookout platform are open today. Whoever comes now sees the place being born.

The Travellers' Forest

A place that carries your story

Some people come to rest and to discover Santa Catalina. Others choose to tie a name, a date or a story that matters to them to a living place along the trail.

You plant a tree at the spot you choose, or adopt one of the large ones already standing here, and it carries a plaque with whichever name you decide. A way to mark a family, a couple, a birth, an anniversary or a moment worth keeping. Looking after the tree is on us.

When you come back to Santa Catalina, there will be a place here telling your story too.
What the experience includes
  • Your choice of tree or available spot
  • A name, a date or a phrase of your own
  • A plaque in a warm, understated finish
  • A photograph of the moment
  • The location recorded along the trail
  • A digital record with the story
